A flying car has arrived and is called AeroMobil 3.0

Flying cars are one of the basic examples of retro-futurism, or how in the past we imagined the future would be. We spent the entire twentieth century believing that in 2000 the cars would fly, but now we are already installed in the new millennium and we have abandoned that dream. And we do not even think about it when we are stuck in a jam, is one of those promises they have been hopeless. Up to now.

Suddenly, it seems that we can dream again and those responsible are few Slovaks have created a prototype flying car and ensure that it is perfectly possible that in a few years the highways are in heaven. The car is called AeroMobil 3.0 and has been presented during Pioneers Festival in Vienna.

AeroMobil 3.0 fit

So far we know what the creators have said about the project that despite the ostentatious car, thanks to the wings that make aircraft are folded while driving, it fits perfectly into a standard parking space. In the AeroMobil 3.0 fit two people and, as indicated from the company, it works with regular gasoline. That is, no special gas stations will be needed. The previous prototypes had already managed to fly, as seen in this video.

It weighs 450 kg, its folding wings are carbon fiber and can get to fly 55 kilometers per hour.

We want to make it exciting personal transportation, more efficient and sustainable,” said Juraj Vaculik, one of the cofounders of AeroMobil. “With more cars on the roads and airports with more people, travel is no longer what it was.” They want to return us to find pleasure in transport.

Given that the first patent for a vehicle of this type was recorded in 1903, and there are car prototypes that run through the air since 1937, it may be best not to rush. Although it is difficult not to close your eyes and imagine ourselves in the Delorean Back to the Future or a scene from Blade Runner.
